Hostel Hospitality Internship Internship
The company are a fast growing small independent hostel group, owned by 2 young Aussies. They started with one backpackers in 2011 & now have 4 hostels in the group. Being part of the Australian Tourism industry means they are part of a vibrant, growing & exciting community, & the business culture definitely reflects this.
The chosen applicant will have the opportunity to work across all of the sites. In return will receive free accomodation, which includes breakfast, wifi, free gym access, some weekly dinners free & some great opportunities to get fully engrossed in the industry. The hours are flexible so can work around studies.
Training provided & learning outcomes to be achieved
– Working alongside the General Manager
– How to work with OTA’s (Online Travel Agencies)
– Training with Channel Management System (CMS) & Property Management System (PMS)
– Importance of social media presence & encouraging direct bookings (FB, instagram etc)
– Writing & posting travel blogs
– Updating websites
– Hosting events for guests
– Front of House training – dealing with customers, complaints, managing a team (cleaners/reception), check in/out process, day-to-day runnings of accommodation properties
– Data Collection & Analysis using reports from PMS system & OTA’s
– Staff motivation
– Design work for signage

Are the Hostel Hospitality Internships paid?
The Hostel Hospitality Internships are voluntary/unpaid as the main benefit is to you through a meaningful learning experience, NOT on photocopying and making coffee. However, many host companies offer a stipend such as weekly transport costs. The internship will assist you in taking a big step towards your future career.
When can I start my Hostel Hospitality Internship?
Our Hostel Hospitality Internship start dates are flexible. We have students starting internships almost every Monday of the year (except in December and the first week of January).
Do you organise graduation Hostel Hospitality Internships?
Yes. We can arrange internships to meet your graduation requirements. These commonly involve an assignment topic or thesis subject.
Can I receive credit from my University for the Internship?
If you send us your University requirements in order to gain credit for the internship then we will make sure to arrange a placement which meets these requirements.
Do you charge a fee for arranging a Hostel Hospitality Internship?
