Fashion

The fashion industry consists of four levels: the production of raw materials, principally fibres and textiles but also leather and fur; the production of fashion goods by designers, manufacturers, contractors, and others; retail sales; and various forms of advertising and promotion.

The “fashion” industry has many interesting parts to it. Of course designing is one part, but there is also the need to learn about fabrics, the market, how to display & sell to the customer. Overseas trends, climate, costs of materials, competition, efficient ways of cutting fabrics, accessories & their design, jewellery, leather, shoes, etc. – all are covered under “fashion”.
