Charity Goods Internship Internship
The company provides a way for businesses to donate brand new unsold goods to charities to help Australians in need.
When the Founder discovered a similar concept in the USA, she was amazed by the scale, innovation and efficiency of the charity – AUD$12billion of goods including: clothes, toys, school/office supplies, personal care and household goods from America’s top brands including Home Depot, Walmart & HP to 40,000 charities in the US.
In Australia there were charities connecting food to people in need, but where did all the other good things go? Australia needed a way for businesses to connect their BRAND NEW unsold goods with charities to help Australians in need.
Each year 2 million Australians, or 1 in 10, seek food relief – around half of them children. According to the Australian Council of Social Service, 2.2 million Australians are currently estimated to be living in poverty including 12% of Australian children.
Since 1983, the company has connected goods to charities in the USA. In Australia, we have been rescuing food for over 20 years, but we hadn’t created a seamless solution for businesses to donate large volumes of new goods to charities.
In 2015, we launched in Australia with big goals – we want to deliver $1billion of goods to Australians in need.
Training provided & learning outcomes to be achieved
Each intern will be provided with training from a team member from the relevant department they are assigned. The company will establish their initial level of skill and set a plan for the period of time they are with the organisation to ensure they achieve minimum new skills.
They are a small team who are joined by teams of skilled volunteers.

Are the Charity Goods Internships paid?
The Charity Goods Internships are voluntary/unpaid as the main benefit is to you through a meaningful learning experience, NOT on photocopying and making coffee. However, many host companies offer a stipend such as weekly transport costs. The internship will assist you in taking a big step towards your future career.
When can I start my Charity Goods Internship?
Our Charity Goods Internship start dates are flexible. We have students starting internships almost every Monday of the year (except in December and the first week of January).
Do you organise graduation Charity Goods Internships?
Yes. We can arrange internships to meet your graduation requirements. These commonly involve an assignment topic or thesis subject.
Can I receive credit from my University for the Internship?
If you send us your University requirements in order to gain credit for the internship then we will make sure to arrange a placement which meets these requirements.
Do you charge a fee for arranging a Charity Goods Internship?
Yes, there is a fee for the comprehensive service we provide. Our fees will be sent to you once you have completed the enquiry form.
