Internships Down Under provides interns with a voluntary internship in their chosen field throughout Australia.
An internship in Australia will give you the opportunity to gain practical training and experience in your requested field in an English language environment. The valuable experience and skills which you inherit will be an asset to your future working career, and provide a competitive edge when you enter the work force. An internship will give you the opportunity to develop your skills in an Australian business environment. Whether your University requires you to complete an internship or you voluntarily decide to undertake the internship, it is an excellent opportunity to gain further knowledge, experience and insight into your chosen industry in a supportive environment.
The internships we arrange do not lead to a job offer with the host company as they are a temporary training experience.
Applicants must have a strong English level. Upper intermediate is the minimum level we expect. A language course can be arranged should you need to develop your skills or confidence. A good level of spoken English is essential for the internship.
All applicants should fit into one of the below categories:
- 1. School Leavers; Those who have recently completed schooling and would like to gain an insight and basic training in a specific field before committing to a career path.
- 2. Enrolled Students; Students who are required to complete an internship as part of their University curriculum. University requirements differ between each educational institution.
- 3. Graduates; Recently completed a tertiary qualification in their requested field.
- 4. Voluntary; Those that choose to complete an internship which is not an essential requirement to graduate.
All placements provide the intern with essential training and guidance to ensure a valuable link to their future career goals
The intern selects the start date, duration & number of hours per week. Interns generally request a full time placement but part time internships can also be arranged to meet requirements. We do not have set start dates. Interns can start an internship on almost any Monday throughout the year.
Insurance is compulsory. If travelling from overseas then your insurance must cover medical, travel, accident and personal liability expenses up to AUD $2 million. Local applicants must be covered for personal liability expenses up to AUD $2 million. Further information can be found here
All interns are required to complete a monthly training monitor. This is provided by Internships Down Under so we can monitor that the internship is meeting the pre-set training requirements. All companies are also required to complete a monthly training monitor.
