Whether you are completing an internship or not, the Welcome Week takes in all the highlights of Sydney & surrounds.
The week will explore all the best bits Sydney has to offer during both the day & night. It is informative and a tonne of fun; the perfect way to start your down under experience. The complete package includes accommodation, airport transfer, sim-card, bank account and even job offers for an entire year.
The program starts almost every Monday of the year (& Thursdays in busy season), extra accommodation can be booked if your flight arrives before this time.

Itinerary
Monday; City Tour & Dinner
The guides meet you at the hostel and escort you to the initial induction information session. The week will be explained, tax file numbers organised, as well as sim-cards.
A guided walk of the City follows taking in Darling Harbour, the Harbour Bridge, Opera House & China Town to name a few.
Dinner & a drink are then provided at the local backpacker bar.

Tuesday; Harbour Cruise
The morning starts with a talk about how to get a job, tax requirements for travelers, bank cards are handed out, how to write the perfect CV, job training, City transport info, and loads more.
Once that’s out of the way, we set sail for a sensational cruise around Sydney Harbour. No day on the harbour would be complete without a swim and your first Aussie BBQ.

Wednesday; Paradise HQ Day 1
We travel to our ‘Paradise HQ’. where we are based in our eco-friendly accommodation for the next three days.
Located in the rainforest only 5 minutes from the beach and home to a pet kangaroo; it’s not hard to see why this place is paradise.
Perfect beaches, sand dunes and unique Aussie wildlife (e.g.koalas) are just some of the highlights.
After a splash in the ocean, it’s pizza for dinner.

Thursday; Paradise HQ Day 2
After breakfast the day explodes with a 4WD trip over the sand dunes and a history lesson about the Aboriginal culture. Next it’s time to slide down the sand dunes on a board….try not to finish with a mouth full of sand!
Back to HQ for lunch, a swim and kick back on the beach.
A guided bush walk follows….destination; scenic lookout point to spot koalas in the trees and whales in the ocean (May – November).
Light the camp fire and it’s a BBQ dinner and drinks on the beach.

Friday; Paradise HQ Day 3
Breakfast is followed by a boat cruise to watch the dolphins at play.
We have one final splash in the ocean, say farewell to HQ, and then drive back to the City. We check back into the hostel and take it easy.

Saturday; Party!!
The night starts at one of our favourite bars and the pub crawl begins.
We party at 3 different bars with a free drink included at each.
An awesome night out is had by all!!
Sunday; Beach Tour
We take a walk along the famous coastal path from Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach. Along the way we stroll by six of the best beaches in Sydney. After cooling off with a swim at the famous Bondi Beach, we head back to the City to unwind and reflect on what was a memorable first week in Sydney.

Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) & Bar Skills
To work in a venue that sells alcohol, all staff must complete an RSA. This includes any job in a bar, pub or restaurant selling alcohol. The course is provided online and is only valid in QLD, NT, WA and SA. An RSA valid in NSW can be arranged for an extra fee.
A bar skills training is also provided.
Note: If you have no intention to work in Australia and don’t require any of the ‘job training or services’, then this can be replaced with a free Blue Mountains trip.

Terms & Conditions
- The ‘applicant’ acknowledges that Internships Down Under will act to introduce the applicant to the ‘Welcome Week’ provider, but is not a party to any Agreement.
- The applicant acknowledges that this application does not create any legal or contractual relationship between Internships Down Under and the applicant.
- Full payment for the Welcome Week will be made within 21 days of completing the application
- Internships Down Under will make no refund of any fees if the applicant provides incorrect, false or fraudulent information/documentation
- The applicants has read, understood and accepts the following Terms & Conditions issued by the Welcome Week provider
Making Your Booking
To book your trip simply choose a Start Date and complete our online booking form. Once your payment has been processed, our reservations team will email you a Booking Confirmation, plus all the necessary information about your trip. All payments are processed via the PCI DSS compliant, eWay Payment Gateway – let’s just say it’s a safe online payment.
Safe Deposit Policy
Paid a deposit to secure a space for a certain date? Sweet! We’ll reserve your spot and make arrangements for your trip. Keep in mind the remainder of your tour needs to be paid 6 weeks prior to your tour. Please understand we reserve the right to cancel your booking if payment has not been received in time.
Changes to Start Dates & Cancellations
If you need to amend your start date, contact us! Amendments to bookings are subject to availability, will incur a $35 fee and can only be made more than 30-days prior to the arrival date. If we’re able to change your start date we’ll send you a revised Booking Confirmation.
Cancellations of bookings 30-days or more before the start date will incur a fee of 20% of the indicated price.
Cancellations within 30-days prior to arrival or ‘no shows’ will incur a fee of 100% of the indicated price.
Add-ons such as extra nights, transfers & deposits are non-refundable.
Plans changed, but not sure when you’ll be able to travel just yet? No worries! As long as you let us know more than 30 days in advance, we can hold your deposit up to 6 months.
Age Restrictions
We offer backpacker-style tours, designed for persons aged 18 – 39 years. Unfortunately persons under 18 years cannot travel with us. Our Ultimate Thailand trips have an age limit of 39 years and UltimateOz 32 years.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is a requirement for all our trips & tours. Please check your policy documents thoroughly to ensure you are adequately covered for the duration of your time overseas. To choose a policy visit our Travel Insurance page.
Travel Documents
It is your responsibility to ensure you have the necessary travel documents for your trip, including valid passport and visa. For entry into most countries you will need to have at least 6 months of validity left on your passport from the date you intend to leave that country. Please check entry requirements for the country you plan on travelling to.
Trip Cancellations
At times, Ultimate Adventure Travel may be forced to cancel a trip start date, in which case a revised trip date will be offered to you. (Reasons may include, but are not limited to, weather and safety conditions etc). We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including, but not limited to, visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights. If this occurs and it is not possible for you to participate in a Tour with a different start date we will offer a full refund, however you shall not be entitled to make any claim for loss arising as a consequence of cancellation or curtailment in these circumstances.
Third Parties & Partnered Operators
Our “Adventures” and East Coast Packages are operated in conjunction with other tour operators & suppliers and are therefore subject to component-specific booking & cancellation policy. Please refer to the FAQ page of your chosen tour for specific booking terms.
General Conduct & Behaviour
Your enjoyment and safety is our main concern, and we want you to have a great time. However, antisocial / abusive / dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to ask anyone who is deliberately not complying, or causing trouble, to leave the group – in which case no refund will be given and you will have no claim against Ultimate Adventure Travel.
Acceptance of Risk
By booking your tour with Ultimate Adventure Travel, you acknowledge that the nature of travel is adventurous and participation involves a degree of personal risk. In some cases, you may be visiting places where the political, cultural and geographical attributes present dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in our daily lives. We use all available information in assessing whether the itinerary should operate and group leaders will always be with you during group activities to advise on best practice with regards to safety however there may still be inherent risks due to the nature of the activity and you need to take all reasonable precautions at all times. You acknowledge that your decision to travel is made in light of consideration of this information and you accept that you assume the personal risks attendant upon such travel. You will also need to sign a Participation Form on starting the tour. Note: The consumption of alcohol is at your own risk and we will not be held liable for any incidents that occur to you under the influence of alcohol. If you chose to drink alcohol at any time during the tour then you accept all responsibility for your own safety and that of your belongings.
Booking Policy – Limitations of Liability
Ultimate Adventure Travel cannot be held responsible for any loss as a result of failure of any third-parties (including Airlines, Tour Operators & Hoteliers), however we will give every reasonable assistance in helping you to resolve any dispute. The responsibility of Ultimate Adventure Travel as a Tour Operator is limited. We are not liable for any personal injury, death, damage, loss, accident or delay which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, or through the acts of default of any company or person engaged in conveying you or carrying out the arrangements of the tour or otherwise in connection therewith.
