Marleen; Facility Management Internship

Marleen is from The Netherlands and is currently doing a facility management internship in Melbourne!

My home city: Amsterdam is famous for: Their ‘Amsterdamse Grachten’, The Red Light District, the tullips, the wooden shoes and the most important thing for most tourists: it’s legal to smoke weed.
When I was young I wanted to be: Hairdresser and mother.
I choose Australia because: I heard amazing stories about Australia from friends and family! I already knew that I wanted to travel after my internship, and Australia is the place to do that.
My impression of Australia before I arrived: ‘Hallelujah!’ Backpackers everywhere, kangaroos, koala’s.
One thing that I have learnt about Australia that I didn’t know before is: That Australian people talk very fast and there are four seasons in one day.
One thing I want to do before I leave Australia: Is to book a ticket back.
If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be: In one of the expensive beautiful beach houses in St. Kilda, Melbourne, Australia. Plus I will move Australia closer to The Netherlands.
Best advice given to me: No worries! Everything is going to be all right.
Worst job I have held: Working alone.
My next trip will be to: USA!
Australia described in one word: Amazing!
