My internship definitely helped me gain some pride in what I was doing, which is really important in a creative business. I learnt to believe in my work and own up to it, which is something I proved to my current employer that has proven to be so important. If I believe in my work, he does too.
How did your internship in Australia assist you in deciding your future career?
The most important outcome of my internship was that I got to experience what working in my field would be, which was extremely rewarding. Especially because I got to see that I was definitely on the right path, and I enjoyed working in that field. All the things I learnt in school all of a sudden made sense and I understood how it was used in the real world.

Any advice for students thinking about coming to Australia for their internship?
Just do it. Don’t worry too much about money or anything. It’s scary leaving everything to start a life somewhere else, and I remember I was worried that I’d be alone and lonely but if you really want it, I’m sure it will be an adventure of a lifetime. It’s a bit cliché but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.
