The Royal Easter Show

Sydney Royal Easter Show has been celebrating the best of Australia since 1823. Taste Australia’s best produce and enjoy shopping, over 14,000 animals on display, hours of family fun, carnival rides, hours of entertainment and more.
Bringing the country to the city each year to celebrate the best Australia has to offer, the Show attracts close to 900,000 people – Australia’s largest annual event. As a cultural icon, it welcomes visitors from more than 60 destinations each year coming to sample Australian life in the heart of Sydney, at Sydney Olympic Park.
From the action-packed international rodeo, woodchop and polo competitions, to carnival rides, nightly fireworks and live entertainment, animal nursery and animals on display, arts and crafts, 400 retail outlets and over 160 food outlets offering Australia’s finest as well as a range of international cuisine, the Show has something for everyone.

Biennale of Sydney

When: 21/3/14 till 9/6/14
Held every two years across multiple venues in Sydney, the Biennale is a three-month exhibition  with an accompanying program of artist talks, forums, guided tours and family days – all free to the public.

ANZAC Day

When: 25/4/14
In 1915 the Australian & New Zealand Armies landed on the shores of Gallipoli, Turkey at the cost of many lives & each year this solemn day is remembered in Cities & Towns throughout Australia & NZ. Besides a public holiday, there is a march of all returned soldiers through Sydney’s CBD starting at 9am till 1pm. Crowds line the streets to pay their respect to returned soldiers from all Australia’s battles.
