Cadi; Event Management Internship in Australia
Cadi is from Wales and has travelled to Sydney to complete an Event Management internship during her year in industry at Cardiff Metropolitan University;
My home country: Wales is famous for its amazing countryside, mountains and culture.
My internship industry/I’m studying: Event Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
I chose to do an internship: I wanted to travel and gain all kinds of experiences outside of the lecture rooms.
My top 3 goals from the internship: To learn and develop new skills through hands-on experience, build confidence and communication skills by moving to a different country and meeting all kinds of different people, and gain industry experience.
The most important thing I’ve learnt from my internship: So far, I’ve learnt that there are different workplace cultures and how to adapt to different environments.
I chose Australia because: I’ve always wanted to travel, so what better way to start than going to the other side of the world!
One thing I have learnt about Australia: I never knew that it could take around four or more hours on a plane just to leave Australia.
My Australian highlight so far: The Blue Mountains! The views are insane!!
